Natural Heartburn/Acid Reflux  Remedies with Turmeric

Whether turmeric forms a usual part of your kitchen cupboard will depend upon what sort of food you generally cook. As more and more people today are using this spice in their cooking, you probably already have it in your cupboard.

Turmeric has long been known for its anti-inflammatory properties and has been used in traditional Asian medicine to treat a great a number of diseases, including gastrointestinal problems, for some time. It has also been proven to stimulate digestion. However, western medical scientists have, to date, been unable to conclude that the consumption of turmeric can cure heartburn/acid reflux and are still carrying out further tests to establish better results. 

If you want to try this, then around 2-3, 1/2-1 gram capsules of turmeric a day is recommended to prevent heartburn from occurring. However, as just mentioned western science is still carrying out research into this remedy as a cure for heartburn/acid reflux. Due also to the limited western medical research carried out to date, it is not known if taking quantities of turmeric over an extended period of time will have any side effects.
